Assistant General Manager

ASSISTANT GENERAL MANAGER

JOB DESCRIPTION

Reports to: General Manager 
Supervises: All location employees not reporting to Support/National Teams 


General Summary 

The Assistant General Manager (AGM), in conjunction with the General Manager, will serve as the primary point of contact for their location and provide leadership for all aspects of sales, operations, and management of 4Wall Entertainment initiatives. They are responsible for the profitability of the location and the efficiency of its operations.  The AGM monitors the financial budget, monitors the quality of the location’s rental equipment and services and ensures maximum customer satisfaction.  They are responsible for not only the quality of gear and service, but also the efficiency and productivity of the entire staff to ensure maximum revenue generation, cost control and profitability. 

Responsibilities of Position: Duties include but are not limited to:

Organizational Responsibilities

  • Work closely with various national teams on any national SOPs and standards that need to be implemented. 
  • Plan, organize, facilitate, attend, and/or participate in various departmental meetings. Ensure compliance of brand standard operating procedures and policies.
  • Work with the other locations’ GMs to promote overall company unity, goals and synergies. Serves as liaison between direct reports, GM, and Regional GM. 
  • Report to 4Wall Executive Management Team on action plans related to business strategic plans.

Personal Responsibilities

  • Comply with and exceed sales goals. 
  • Responsible for cost control and overall profitability of location.
  • Manage execution of division budgets and revenue forecasts.
  • Suggest new business opportunities in current local markets for all current and new customers and revenue streams.
  • Oversee the labor team to ensure projects are appropriately staffed and executed.  
  • Manage the presentation and maintenance of the facility, trucks, and other operating assets.
  • Accountable for the quality of the rental gear and the efficient service of the rental staff. Identify areas for process, inventory and operational improvements.
  • Ensure accuracy of the inventory in Rental Works.
  • Responsible for managing missing equipment policies and procedures through management of employees generating and overseeing the reporting. 
  • Ensure equipment shortages are filled by monitoring traffic between local and national asset / cross-rental teams
  • Review sub-rentals with asset teams locally and nationally to recommend purchases or transfers as needed
  • Perform any other job related duties as assigned.

My Team Responsibilities

  • Supervise, lead, and direct all account managers, sales staff, and office staff.  Supervise and lead the Shop Operations Manager/Foreman, who is responsible for the daily management of the shop and employees of the shop.
  • Actively participate in the interviewing, selection and hiring, training and cross-training, performance management, resolving problems, and recommending discipline and/or termination when appropriate, in coordination with HR, of all staff members when necessary.
  • Motivate and develop a strong sales environment in order to further drive business and excellence within each given market.
  • Actively encourage and participate with employee engagement and culture building initiatives 
  • Ensure that team members have personal growth opportunities and assist with career path goals.       
  • Ensure that all employees, vendors, outside contractors, etc. are operating all job tasks, functions and equipment in a safe manner per company policy and that meets OSHA standards and other governmental or regulatory requirements.  Ensure that employees feel comfortable reporting any work place hazards or safety concerns
  • Communicate in a positive, informative and professional manner with all 4Wall Entertainment employees. 

Key Requirements

  • Minimum 5+ years in supervisory and leadership experience managing various types of teams.
  • Must have a clear understanding and proven track record of operating/leading a business from all aspects, with emphasis on sales
  • Computer literacy, franchise systems and financial management including budgeting, forecasting, and reporting required.
  • Knowledge of operations, including marketing plans, security and safety programs, personnel and labor relations, repairs, maintenance, quality assurance programs and long range planning.
  • Must possess outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal, with strong ability to speak with poise.
  • Must possess excellent training skills.
  • Must have exceptional leadership skills and ability to direct, coach, mentor, and develop employees / direct reports.  
  • Must be a strong motivator, with ability to execute strategic direction for the company and influence others in support of the strategy.

Physical Requirements

The job duties and tasks of this position require the employee to regularly sit. The employee may choose to stand and move within their working area. Regular use of computer monitors and a keyboard/mouse will be required. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 2 pounds. Other physical requirements of the job include the ability to communicate. Generally, the employee will be in a temperature-controlled work environment set for general comfort.

Availability

  • Must be available to work in the evenings and weekends, as required.
