A/V PROJECT MANAGER (Live Events)

JOB DESCRIPTION

Department: Production/Events 
Reports to: General Manager/Senior VP of Business Development
Supervises: Show Crew

General Summary
The A/V Project Manager’s primary role is to directly interact with 4Wall Account Executives to plan, develop and execute video solutions for live events and/or a rental project. Throughout the project’s life cycle, this role will define objectives, maintain quality control, ensure timely and accurate logistics and support client relations at all times.

Responsibilities of Position: Duties include but are not limited to:

Organizational Responsibilities

  • Maintain a high level of product and live event logistics coordination knowledge, and awareness of production staff needs in regard to building shows, executing preps, and ensuring on-site success for the production staff and client.

Personal Responsibilities

  • Assist Production Managers in all aspects of creating a quality show: equipment choices, accuracy of gear lists, review of show files, assisting in execution of prep and trucking, ensuring quality control of equipment and labor productivity on-site.
  • Enter and maintain orders into inventory software system and communicate equipment requirements and timeframes to Operations and Logistics Departments.
  • Act as a technical project lead as needed.
  • Evaluate solution ideas by considering data, precedents, and input from others, as well as your own personal experience and knowledge.
  • Provide input and guidance for the production staff in regard to builds on show sites.
  • Work with show staff to ensure that our high standards are maintained.
  • Present creative solutions to challenging requests.
  • Keep abreast of new technology and trends in the entertainment industry. Identify skills needed to perform job duties more effectively and work with management to obtain the support for training.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Team Responsibilities

  • Interface with sales team, operations, and end user to assist in managing and implementing a service or product solution that meets the budget and creative criteria for new or existing projects.
  • Consider the cost and benefit implications of team action plans and activities and contribute to their development and completion.
  • Work collaboratively with internal customers, clients and vendors.
  • Work with other members of the team to generate innovative solutions to obstacles.
  • Participate in team meetings, assist and train team members, take responsibility for contributing to the success of the team, offer solutions to team problems and promote a positive team environment. 

Key Requirements:

  • Strong working knowledge of Audio and Video systems, including LED, audio consoles, projection, Image Processing and Media Servers.
  • Working knowledge of entertainment lighting, video and sound.
  • Proficiency in project and task management, and applications such as Word, Excel, AutoCAD/Vectorworks and inventory software systems. Ability to create video system riser diagrams.
  • Familiarity with programming and computer networking skills.
  • Must be extremely organized and have excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to be a self-starter, adapt to rising challenges and own all aspects of a project.
  • Must adhere to all company policies, SOPs, and other management directives.

Physical Requirements

The job duties and tasks of this position require the employee to regularly sit. The employee may choose to stand and move within their working area. Generally, the employee will be in a temperature-controlled work environment set for general comfort. When the employee is on-site, the position will require to regularly push, pull, bend, climb, reach, twist, and kneel as well as lift and/or move 75-100 pounds. Other physical requirements of the job include communication and visual acuity such as close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. On-site, the employee will not be in a temperature-controlled work environment and may experience temperature variations due to local weather conditions. Regular use of computer monitors, and a keyboard/mouse will be required. Other physical requirements of the job include the ability to communicate.

Availability:

  • Must be available to work in the evenings and weekends, as required.
