Meet The Team: Lily Ten Eyck

Welcome to our 'Meet the Team' series! At UsedLighting.com, we want you to get to know the real people behind the emails and phone calls - the ones who help make everything happen behind the scenes. This series is about introducing our amazing team members, sharing their stories, and highlighting the unique talents and personalities driving our success. We hope this helps you feel more connected to the people you interact with at UsedLighting.com!

Meet Lily Ten Eyck, making things happen at our NY location!

How long have you been with 4Wall/UsedLighting.com?

I have been with 4Wall/UsedLighting.com for just over a year.

Tell us about a professional success story that you're proud of.

I have many. I believe you should be proud of everything you do, even when others may deem it as failures or mistakes. I look at them as opportunities to grow.

What is your favorite memory working here?

Moving to an office with a window.

Do you have any background in the lighting industry?

I started theater in High School, doing everything, including props, lighting, carpentry, etc. When I went to college and into the union, that is when I focused on lighting.

Who are some of your biggest influences?

My biggest influences are my parents, sister, and Leonardo da Vinci.

Describe an interesting hobby or pastime that you have.

I just got back into running. I most recently participated in the Drammen 10K and would eventually like to run the New York City Marathon. I also love to hula hoop and aerial hoop (lyra).

What is something surprising that not many people know about you?

In college, I studied anthropology with a focus in archeology. I have two publications in biology, and I am working on a third. Along the same line, I went on a research trip to Papua New Guinea, and we are now writing a grant to go back.

What is one thing you can't live without?

My water bottle - it has traveled the world with me.

What is something that you've always wanted to try or learn?

I have always wanted to learn to play the drums and cello.

Tell us about a favorite memory from childhood.

Hiking through the dark rain forest looking for coqui frog in the pouring rain.
