January 17th & 18th at 1 PM – 1:40 PM in the Arena.
Ever wondered what it’s like to create the lighting design for some of the hottest names in the music industry? Join us in the Arena for a live Q&A session with Robby Kurtz of 4Wall and Gordon Droitcour & Erik Anderson of Cour Design! Cour Design is the brainchild of Creative Producers Gordon and Erik, both of whom have worked with some of the biggest names in the music industry, including Billie Eilish, Kacey Musgraves, Madeon, and more. Their lighting design, creative direction, video content, and other offerings have made a massive splash in the industry, and they are just getting started. Don’t miss this incredible opportunity to learn from two industry pioneers.
In addition to the audience being able to ask questions after the presentation, below are some topics that will be discussed:
- How do you navigate creative differences between you and the artist & their team?
- With all the lighting & video choices out there, how do you stay up to date on industry equipment?
- What were some of the most difficult concepts given to you by an artist, that you had to pull off? Tell us a little bit about your approach to difficult or seemingly impossible ideas.
- What trends do you currently see in the music production industry? Which ones do you think will fade out and which ones will continue?
- How do you differ your approach when working with a large artist like Billie Eilish compared to smaller acts?
- How do you approach asking a client about their budget and help steer their expectations based off that budget?
- What advice do you have for the small-medium size acts out there that want to move to the next level in their production design?
We hope you will be able to join us! For those not able to attend, we will try to record the presentation and post it on our social media channels after the event. Don't forget to stop by our booth (#11546) located in the 'Entertainment Technology' exhibit area.
