Media Server & Camera Prep Technician
Location: Aylesbury4Wall Europe is a global video, lighting and rigging service provider at the cutting-edge of event technology. We partner with some of the best-known brands in the world to provide a complete AV and lighting solution for Concerts & Touring, TV Studios, Exhibitions, Virtual Events and other sectors; from design integration services to AV technology installation at virtual events & exhibitions.
We are currently seeking a Media Server & Camera Prep Technician to join our 4Wall Warehouse team in Aylesbury.
The ideal candidate will be highly organised, detail oriented and an effective communicator with the ability to work well as part of a team.
As Media Server and Camera Prep Technician you will ensure that media servers, cameras and other audio-visual equipment is prepped to the highest standard and that it is checked in and out of the warehouse accurately and in a timely manner. You will also work as part of the wider warehouse team to assist in other areas as required.
Primary Responsibilities
- Configure media servers and comms systems.
- Complete quality control checks on cameras, lenses and media servers ready for next job.
- Installing camera channels into engineering racks.
- Setting up network systems, input and output matrices along with the correct input and output cards required.
- Reporting any faults, to the warehouse manager for repair.
- Highlighting any missing equipment as soon as possible.
- Keeping software licences up to date.
- Reading and understanding video schematics and building media server racks to a spec/client’s specification on request.
- Setting up network systems, input and output matrices along with installing the correct input and output cards required.
- Follow and implement safe working practices and maintain Health & Safety (H&S) standards, ensuring that equipment is installed within the provision of H&S and that H&S briefings are held.
- Producing appropriate documentation for all jobs allocated to you.
- Completing Warehouse Check In & Check Out procedures using our Rental software.
- Train and mentor junior video technicians and operators.
Qualifications and pre-requisites
- Strong technical ability - a broad technical knowledge base across all areas of video, networking and IT.
- Great communication, organisational and time management skills.
- Must have good manual dexterity and visual acuity.
- A keen eye for detail.
- The willingness and ability to facilitate overtime and flexibility with hours during busy periods.
