AUDIO DEPARTMENT TECHNICIAN

General Summary
The Audio Department Technician is responsible for maintaining, repairing, and quality control of speakers, amps, microphones, digital and analog mixers, com systems, and DANTE networks. This includes inspecting, prepping, maintaining and organizing all audio gear per 4Wall quality standards and procedures.
Responsibilities of Position: Duties include but are not limited to:
Basic Duties
- Show up on time and ready to work
- Keep the work area clean and organized
- Utilize IT-supported software/Apps (i.e., Teams, OKTA, RW, etc.)
- Display excellent customer service/product support
Planning/Communication
- Communicate in a positive and professional manner with all 4Wall Entertainment employees.
- Notify the Department Lead of any shortages/overages
- Notify the Department Lead of any damage
Workflow In
- Check-in/verify equipment as it returns
- Receive and QC equipment to 4Wall standards
- Receive and QC Subrentals/Transfers
- Brand all equipment to match 4Wall Brand Book
- Update firmware on all equipment to match 4Wall standards
- Assist in unloading trucks, as required
Workflow Out
- Return subrentals/transfers
- Stage equipment on orders in a timely manner and ensuring all deadlines are met.
- Assist in loading trucks, as required
Maintenance/Repair
- Repair any equipment that does not pass QC
RentalWorks Knowledge
- Staging
- Check-in
- PO receiving and return
- Transfer receiving and staging
- Adding and removing items to orders at staging screen
- Put an item into repair
- Remove an item from repair
- Mark an item as QC
Other Duties
- Work in a safe manner and report any safety concerns to your direct supervisor, Operations Manager, or General Manager.
- Actively encourage and participate with employee engagement and culture-building initiatives.
- Assisting in all departments of the Shop, including LEDs, Moving Lights, Lamps, Cable, Check-Ins, Electronics, Video, etc.
- Other duties as assigned.
Key Requirements:
- Demonstrated technical/electronics training and/or experience.
- Must have good troubleshooting and repair skills.
- Ability to build audio systems based off the specs of a show.
- Must be able to take directions as well as multi-task in a fast-paced environment without supervision.
- Must have a positive attitude, be team-oriented and have great customer service skills.
- Knowledge of how to set up, strike and operate all gear within the Audio department.
- Experience in the entertainment lighting industry is strongly preferred.
- Must be willing to remain clean shaven to wear a respirator and in order to pass the medical clearance for fit test.
- Must be able to lift 75 lbs.; duties include loading and unloading trucks
Physical Requirements
The job duties and tasks of this position require the employee to regularly stand and walk. Regular use of computer monitors and a keyboard/mouse will be required. The employee must regularly push, pull, bend, climb, reach, twist, and kneel as well as lift and/or move 50 pounds. Other physical requirements of the job include communication and visual acuity such as close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. Generally, the employee will not be in a temperature-controlled work environment and may experience temperature variations due to local weather conditions.
Availability:
- Must be available to work in the evenings and weekends, as required.
