SHIPPING AND RECEIVING CLERK

JOB DESCRIPTION

FLSA Status: Non-ExemptEEO Class: 7 - Operatives
Department:  Rentals 
Reports to: Operations Manager / Shop Foreman
Supervises: N/A


General Summary 

The Shipping and Receiving Clerk is responsible for the shipping and receiving functions of their location by 4Wall quality standards and procedures.  

Responsibilities of Position: Duties include but are not limited to:

Basic Duties 

  • Show up on time and ready to work 
  • Keep the work area clean and organized
  • Utilize IT-supported software/Apps (i.e., Teams, OKTA, RW, etc.) 
  • Display excellent customer service/product support 
  • Book freight and small package shipping
  • Sort incoming friend and package deliveries
  • Provide small packages and freight quotes to Sales Team

Planning/Communication

  • Communicate in a positive and professional manner with all 4Wall Entertainment employees.
  • Work in a safe manner and report any safety concerns to your direct supervisor, Operations Manager, or General Manager.
  • Send tracking information to Operations, Agents, and Project Managers 
  • Add tracking information to Rental Works  
  • Notify Operations if incorrect shipping method is requested 
  • Notify Operations if vehicles cannot ship items safely

Workflow In 

  • Receive incoming POs
  • Create and verify out contacts are complete
  • Create transfer manifest 

Workflow Out 

  • Pack small packages to ship safely
  • Pack freight to ship safely

RentalWorks Knowledge

  • Staging
  • QuikActivity
  • PO receiving and return
  • Transfer receiving and staging 
  • Adding and removing items to orders at the RW staging screen
  • Create in and out contracts
  • Add and remove items to RW orders

Other Duties 

  • Maintain and operate per 4Wall quality standards in all work activities. 
  • Assessing shipping and other supply needs based on inventory and usage.
  • Issuing or distributing materials, products, parts, and supplies to customers or coworkers based on information from incoming requisitions.
  • Keeping records on damage of stock.  Reporting any damage to management. 
  • Responsible for working with vendors and RMAs (Return Merchandise Authorizations).
  • Wear the proper safety mask when painting at all times.
  • Learn and work in other departments within the Shop as requested by the Operations Manager or Shop Foreman.
  • Communicate in a positive and professional manner with all 4Wall Entertainment employees. 
  • Maintain the highest level of customer relations.

Key Requirements:

  • Previous shipping and receiving experience required, inlcuding experience with safely and securely palletizing equipment to ship via 3rd party shippers, bills of lading, purchase orders and obtaining shipping quotes.
  • Must have good interpersonal and communication skills in order to work well with clients and the Company’s employees.
  • Must be able to take directions as well as multi-task in a fast-paced environment without supervision.
  • Must have a solid work background, including recent consistent work experience. Gaps must be explainable.
  • Must have a positive attitude, be team-oriented and have great customer service skills.
  • Experience in entertainment lighting industry is strongly preferred.
  • Must be willing to be clean-shaven to pass the medical clearance for fit test.
  • Must be able to lift 75 lbs.; duties may include loading and unloading trucks.
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
  • High School Diploma or GED is required.

Physical Requirements

The job duties and tasks of this position require the employee to regularly stand and walk. Regular use of computer monitors and a keyboard/mouse will be required. The employee must regularly push, pull, bend, climb, reach, twist, and kneel as well as lift and/or move 75 pounds. Other physical requirements of the job include communication and visual acuity such as close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. Generally, the employee will not be in a temperature-controlled work environment and may experience temperature variations due to local weather conditions.

Availability:

  • Must be available to work in the evenings and weekends, as required.

  • No to minimal travel required.
