General Summary
The Shipping and Receiving Clerk is responsible for the shipping and receiving functions of their location by 4Wall quality standards and procedures. This role will also be responsible for working in various departments to assist with check-in and out, troubleshoot, clean, and test equipment, etc.
Responsibilities of Position: Duties include but are not limited to:
Organizational Responsibilities
- Maintain and operate per 4Wall quality standards in all work activities
- Actively encourage and participate with employee engagement and culture-building initiatives.
Personal Responsibilities
- Communicate with shipping vendors about shipping quotes from small pallets to multiple 53’ truck orders.
- Responsible for outgoing shipments via UPS/Fed Ex/Freight Companies, etc., choosing the most economical and efficient method.
- Communicate with sales staff about incoming and outgoing packages pertaining to their orders and on shipping discrepancies.
- Pulling orders for outgoing sales.
- Assessing shipping and other supply needs based on inventory and usage.
- Issuing or distributing materials, products, parts, and supplies to customers or coworkers based on information from incoming requisitions.
- Receive, inspect and distribute all incoming packages and items from outside vendors to the proper department or recipient.
- Communicate boxed goods and systems items received to the designated agent.
- Organize, label and store boxed goods items for storage and to allow for easy identification when shipping to customers.
- Provide detailed list of information to designated agent when stock arrives from manufacturer and ships to customer.
- Add packing lists to documents of Purchase Orders in RentalWorks.
- Assisting in all departments of the Shop, including LEDs, Moving Lights, Lamps, Cable, Check-Ins, Electronics, Video, etc.
- Cleaning and testing equipment as it returns from rental orders.
- Assembling and disassembling equipment as needed.
- Checking in orders including scanning equipment barcodes and/or entering quantity count data in RentalWorks.
- Keeping records on damage of stock. Reporting any damage to management.
- Responsible for working with vendors and RMAs (Return Merchandise Authorizations).
- Wear the proper safety mask when painting at all times.
- Keep work area clean and organized.
- Other duties as assigned.
Team Responsibilities
- Learn and work in other departments within the Shop as requested by the Operations Manager or Shop Foreman.
- Communicate in a positive and professional manner with all 4Wall Entertainment employees.
- Maintain the highest level of customer relations.
- Work in a safe manner and report any safety concerns to your direct supervisor, Operations Manager, or General Manager.
Key Requirements:
- Previous shipping and receiving experience required, inlcuding experience with safely and securely palletizing equipment to ship via 3rd party shippers, bills of lading, purchase orders and obtaining shipping quotes.
- Must have good interpersonal and communication skills in order to work well with clients and the Company’s employees.
- Must be able to take directions as well as multi-task in a fast-paced environment without supervision.
- Must have a solid work background, including recent consistent work experience. Gaps must be explainable.
- Must have a positive attitude, be team-oriented and have great customer service skills.
- Experience in entertainment lighting industry is strongly preferred.
- Must be willing to be clean-shaven to pass the medical clearance for fit test.
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs.; duties may include loading and unloading trucks.
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
- High School Diploma or GED is required.
Physical Requirements
The job duties and tasks of this position require the employee to regularly stand and walk. Regular use of computer monitors and a keyboard/mouse will be required. The employee must regularly push, pull, bend, climb, reach, twist, and kneel as well as lift and/or move 50 pounds. Other physical requirements of the job include communication and visual acuity such as close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. Generally, the employee will not be in a temperature-controlled work environment and may experience temperature variations due to local weather conditions.
Availability:
- Must be available to work in the evenings and weekends, as required.
