National Transportation Manager
NATIONAL TRANSPORTATION MANAGER

General Summary
The National Transportation Manager has a primary responsibility of providing internal freight between regions in an effort to consolidate freight to reduce the number of shipments between locations and to support national logistics.
Responsibilities of Position: Duties include but are not limited to:
Organizational Responsibilities
- Maintain and operate per 4Wall quality standards in all work activities.
- Actively encourage and participate with employee engagement and culture-building initiatives.
Personal Responsibilities
- Responsible for coordinating inbound and outbound freight between regions and assists with inner regional freight as needed; including but not limited to quoting and scheduling dedicated vehicles, air freight, and LTL ground shipments.
- Assist with local production trucking as needed.
- Assist with international import and export shipments.
- Manages and publishes a regional trucking route sheet.
- Write PO’s for shipping vendors and manage to completion.
- Communicates with Assets, Inventory Controllers, Cross Rental Agents, and operation teams to plan gear transfers and subrentals between regions efficiently.
- Communicates with the location’s shipping team to prep and consolidate gear to meet targeted ship dates.
- Chooses the most efficient and cost-effective shipping method based on need by dates and gear availability.
- Assists in fleet compliance; including but not limited to driver compliance documents, updating fleet service records, vehicle registration, and fuel taxes.
- Other duties as assigned.
Team Responsibilities
- Learn and work in all departments within the Shop as requested by the Operations Manager.
- Communicate in a positive, informative and professional manner with all 4Wall Entertainment employees.
- Maintain the highest level of customer relations.
- Work in a safe manner and report any safety concerns to your Operations Manager or General Manager.
- Ensure that all employees, vendors, outside contractors, etc. are operating all job tasks, functions and equipment in a safe manner per company policy and that meets OSHA standards and other governmental or regulatory requirements. Ensure that employees feel comfortable reporting any workplace hazards or safety concerns.
- Communicate in a positive, informative, and professional manner with all 4Wall Entertainment employees.
Key Requirements
- Must have experience with bills of lading, purchase orders and obtaining shipping quotes.
- Knowledge of DOT regulations and requirements.
- Computer skills, including working knowledge of the internet, Outlook, Excel, and the ability to learn new software.
- Must be able to give directions as well as multi-task in a fast-paced environment without supervision.
- Must have a positive attitude, be team-oriented and have great customer service skills.
- Must be responsible, self-motivated, self-starter, personable and well organized.
- Understanding and knowledge of theatrical lighting, staging, rigging, and entertainment equipment is preferred.
- Must possess outstanding communication skills.
- Must be able to effectively communicate in English.
Physical Requirements
The job duties and tasks of this position require the employee to regularly stand and walk. Regular use of computer monitors and a keyboard/mouse will be required. The employee must regularly push, pull, bend, climb, reach, twist, and kneel as well as lift and/or move 50 pounds. Other physical requirements of the job include communication and visual acuity such as close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. Generally, the employee will not be in a temperature-controlled work environment and may experience temperature variations due to local weather conditions.
Availability
- Must be available to work in the evenings and weekends, as required.
