Installation Technician (Contract)
General Summary:
As Installation Technician, you will play a crucial role in the dynamic world of entertainment lighting and installations. This position offers a unique opportunity to work on-site and in shop environments installing theatrical and architectural lighting equipment as part of complex lighting systems.
Organizational Responsibilities:
- Maintain and operate per company quality standards in all work activities.
Personal Responsibilities:
- Theatrical and architectural lighting installation and focus
- Assembling and disassembling equipment as needed
- Daily work progress reporting to supervisors and managers
- Assist with receiving incoming materials and equipment
- Assist with preparing equipment to be delivered to job sites
- Keep track of tools and materials on-site and report needs to supervisors and managers
- Work with Lead Installation Technicians and Project Managers to provide the information necessary to keep documents and programming updated
- Keep the work area clean and organized
- Other duties as assigned
Team Responsibilities:
- Learning and working in other areas as requested by the Project Manager or Lead Installation Technicians
- Communicate in a positive and professional manner with all 4Wall entertainment employees
- Maintain the highest level of customer service
- Work in a safe manner and report any safety concerns to your direct supervisor, Project Manager, or General Manager
Key Requirements:
- Production / Stagehand experience
- Demonstrated technical/electronics training and/or experience
- Solid knowledge and understanding of electricity and electronics
- Excel in a fast-paced environment, work well under pressure and multitask effectively.
- Experience in the entertainment lighting industry is strongly preferred.
- Experience on construction sites
- Excellent communication skills
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs. Duties may include loading and unloading trucks
- Must be able to stand and walk for long periods of time/ distance
Additional Preferred Experience:
- Experience with circular, table, and saber saws
- Experience with power tools, drills, drivers, and pneumatic tools
- Knowledge of hardware, lumber, and steel
- Able to read and interpret drawings and plans
- Experience and ability to operate boom lifts and aerial work platforms
- Experience with theatrical rigging with knowledge of ropes, knots, slings, and rigging methodology
- Training and certification for overhead entertainment rigging
- Familiarity with the troubleshooting process
- Familiarity with low-voltage data terminations
- Understanding of DMX and other control protocols
- Understanding of typical and recognized safety standards
Physical Requirements
- The job duties and tasks of this position require the employee to regularly sit, stand, walk, or climb. The employee may be on their feet for the full duration of their shift. Regular use of computer monitors and a keyboard/mouse will be required. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. When available, the employee will be in a temperature-controlled work environment set for general comfort.
Availability:
- Must be available to work in the evenings and weekends, as required.
Position Location and/or Territory and Travel:
- This position will be in Orlando, FL, and work in both an office and a field environment.
