Senior Application Engineer

General Summary
This position is considered an expert in lighting system integration and system design and will work closely with the Systems Sales teams in all locations to develop and engineer for proposals: lighting control systems, custom integration solutions, general lighting solutions and any requirements needed to properly quote opportunities that may or may not have a working specification or is a design development opportunity.
Responsibilities of Position: Duties include but are not limited to:
Organizational Responsibilities
- Work with the 4Wall System Sales team or other sales agents to meet or exceed yearly budgets
- Work with the Operations team to keep them informed of how an opportunity was quoted when it becomes an order
- Help find ways to increase profitability on potential projects while meeting or exceeding the client’s needs and staying competitive
Personal Responsibilities
- Reduce errors in the quotation process when a complete bill of materials is not provided for the opportunity being quoted
- Help find cost savings that can be realized when the order is confirmed and provide that information to the operations team.
- Work with the sales teams to verify quotes/proposals have a functional bill of materials to complete the job requirements before it is issued to the client
- Create system sales risers and cut sheets, when needed, for the project before an order has been confirmed
- If needed, assist the sales team with site walks to gather information to properly generate a quote.
- Provide estimating as a backup to the Systems Estimator or assist when there is a back log of quote requests coming due
- Research and keep current on lighting products and technologies immerging in the industry
- Complete any other tasks or responsibilities required by 4Wall Management.
Team Responsibilities
- Educate the sales team on different means and methods of creating lighting systems and how to quote them.
- Assist with mockups and demonstrations
- Communicate and collaborate in a positive and professional manner with all 4Wall Entertainment employees.
- Attend and participate in all meetings required
- Maintain the highest level of customer relations
- Work in a safe manner and report any safety concerns to your direct supervisor
Key Requirements:
- Has 5 years of experience in the lighting industry designing or installing systems
- Must have good verbal and written communication skills to explain technical matters
- Must have solid computer skills and can draft in Auto CAD
- Must have an in-depth understanding of lighting technologies and protocols, and can layout a system
- Able to safely lift 50lbs.
- Able to climb ladders and stairs
- Undergraduate degree in a technical field is preferred.
- Length of experience, specific skills/knowledge, physical requirements, etc.
Physical Requirements
The job duties and tasks of this position require the employee to regularly sit. The employee may choose to stand and move within their working area. Regular use of computer monitors, and a keyboard/mouse will be required. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 2 pounds. Other physical requirements of the job include the ability to communicate. Generally, the employee will be in a temperature-controlled work environment set for general comfort.
Availability:
- Must be available on-call in the evenings and weekends, as required.
