General Summary
The Director of Production, Live Events’ primary responsibility is to coordinate all aspects of projects as they apply to National Live Events production staff. This includes but is not limited to maintaining all crew-related records, calendars, training, travel arrangements and assignments. This role will interact directly with Clients, the Sr. VP of Live Events, the VP of Live Events, Sales Account Managers, Directors of Live Events, and the Production Assistant as well as Corporate Human Resources and Marketing.
Responsibilities of Position: Duties include but are not limited to:
Organizational Responsibilities
- Maintain a high level of production and live event logistics knowledge, and awareness of production staff needs regarding building shows, executing preps, coordinating travel, and ensuring on-site success for the production staff.
- Work closely with the VP of Live Events to develop department objectives, budgets, and strategies.
- Create and institute SOP’s for practices involving the National Live Events staff.
- Maintain and operate per 4Wall quality and brand standards and policies in all work activities.
- Maintain the confidentiality of our clients.
Personal Responsibilities
- Ensure all policies related to labor are being adhered to and enforced consistently.
- Keep abreast of new technology and trends in the live event industry. Identify skills needed to perform job duties. Maintain crew staff training and certification records, helping to facilitate and schedule training sessions to keep staff up to date.
- Work with Directors of Live Events and Project Managers to provide the Production Assistant with the needed information to request and receive CAPS new hire paperwork for temporary employees, and/or information to request 1099 Subcontractor paperwork.
- Ensure that local show prep labor has been scheduled based on the needs of each project.
- Coordinate travel of all temporary and contracted employees per specifications of event/job.
- Working with Production Assistant, oversee the submission of timecards from all freelance and/or temporary employees to submit timecards within payroll deadlines.
- Working with Production Assistant, verify Per Diem, Rates and Hours for all labor in RentalWorks.
- Working with Production Assistant, enter all travel costs, expenses, and receipts into RentalWorks.
- Prepare purchase orders for 1099 Subcontractors.
- Oversee the documentation for Production Job Packets (Health & Safety, Missing & Damages, Timesheets, etc.)
- Assist with maintaining the location job calendar.
- Other duties as assigned.
Team Responsibilities
- Provide direction, coordination and support to all employees and contracted workers.
- Communicate in a positive and professional manner with all 4Wall Entertainment and CAPS employees.
- Maintain the highest level of customer relations.
- Work with other members of the team to generate innovative solutions to obstacles.
Key Requirements
- 5 years live event industry experience.
- Working knowledge of live event lighting, video, and rigging.
- Proficiency in project and task management, and applications such as Word, Excel, and inventory software systems, specifically RentalWorks.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Must be responsible, self-motivated, self-starter, personable and well organized.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Ability to maintain friendly, professional demeanor at all times.
- Must be able to take direction as well as multi-task in a fast-paced environment without supervision.
- Must have a solid work background, including recent consistent work experience. Gaps must be explainable.
- Must have a positive attitude, be team-oriented and have great customer service skills.
- Be willing to accept new challenges as the job may grow and change over time.
Physical Requirements
The job duties and tasks of this position require the employee to regularly sit. The employee may choose to stand and move within their working area. Regular use of computer monitors, and a keyboard/mouse will be required. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds. Other physical requirements of the job include the ability to communicate. Generally, the employee will be in a temperature-controlled work environment set for general comfort.

- Must be available to work in the evenings and weekends, as required.
