TRUSS AND DOCK LEAD

JOB DESCRIPTION

FLSA Status: Non-ExemptEEO Class: 6 - Craft Workers
Department: Rentals 
Reports to: Operations Manager / Shop Foreman
Supervises: N/A


General Summary 

The Truss and Dock Lead is responsible for supervising the Truss Workers and for the maintenance and repair of all gear in the Truss And Dock department. This includes inspecting, prepping, maintaining and organizing all truss, pipe and other equipment within the Dock and Truss departments per 4Wall quality standards and procedures. This role will also have check-in responsibilities which includes inspecting and organizing all incoming gear when returning to the Shop per 4Wall quality standards and procedures.

Responsibilities of Position: Duties include but are not limited to:

Organizational Responsibilities

  • Maintain and operate per 4Wall quality standards in all work activities.
  • Actively encourage and participate with employee engagement and culture-building initiatives.

Personal Responsibilities

  • Establish priorities, provide direction, assign tasks, coordinate and support theTruss and  Dock team to ensure productivity and instill initiative.
  • Maintain high-level quality control within the department
  • With the team, successfully unload trucks, check-in and inspect returned equipment
  • Check-in orders, including scanning equipment barcodes and/or entering quantity count data in RentalWorks
  • Troubleshoot any conflicts or issues when equipment enters the building
  • Maintain an accurate inventory count per 4Wall procedures.
  • With the team, successfully execute all pick lists in a timely and consistent basis.
  • Check-in and -out orders including scanning equipment barcodes and/or entering quantity count data in Rental Works
  • Clean, paint, and organize truss, motors and rigging gear
  • General repair and maintenance of the truss, motors and rigging gear.
  • Pull, cut and paint pipe.
  • Pull sandbags and crossovers.
  • Preparing truss and Dock department equipment for orders.
  • Responsible for receiving all sub-rentals and receiving the PO’s in RentalWorks.
  • Sort the sub hired equipment and make sure it is brought to the proper department for a timely return. 
  • Make sure subrental PO is properly returned in RentalWorks to close out PO’s.
  • Wear the proper safety mask when painting at all times.
  • Actively check and respond to 4Wall email while on the clock.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Team Responsibilities

  • Learn and work in other departments within the Shop as requested by the Operations Manager or Shop Foreman.
  • Communicate in a positive and professional manner with all 4Wall Entertainment employees. 
  • Ensure all team members maintain accountability and the highest level of customer relations.
  • Work in a safe manner and report any safety concerns to your direct supervisor, Operations Manager, or General Manager

Key Requirements:

  • Previous warehouse or dock experience required
  • Working knowledge of all types of equipment coming in and leaving the shop.
  • Must be able to take directions as well as multi-task in a fast-paced environment without supervision.
  • Must have a positive attitude, be team-oriented and have great customer service skills.
  • Experience in entertainment lighting industry is strongly preferred.
  • Must be willing to be clean-shaven to pass the medical clearance for fit test.
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs.; duties include loading and unloading trucks.
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
  • High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • Must be able to effectively communicate in English.

Physical Requirements

The job duties and tasks of this position require the employee to regularly stand and walk. Regular use of computer monitors and a keyboard/mouse will be required. The employee must regularly push, pull, bend, climb, reach, twist, and kneel as well as lift and/or move 50 pounds. Other physical requirements of the job include communication and visual acuity such as close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. Generally, the employee will not be in a temperature-controlled work environment and may experience temperature variations due to local weather conditions.

Availability

  • Must be available to work in the evenings and weekends, as required.
