General Summary
The Video Technologist will act as a resource for project teams in multiple 4Wall locations. This role will assist in strategic planning and execution for video initiatives. In this role, the Video Technologist will take part in project-specific duties, including system design, drafting, and order entry for video systems. Responsibilities will include planning, engineering and managing the implementation of pre-racked, “fly-pack” style video systems to be deployed as general rental inventory, as well as customized systems for specific rental projects.

Organizational Responsibilities
- Providing excellent service to all customers, vendors, employees, and visitors at all times.
Personal Responsibilities
- Advising the design and specification of video initiatives from client concept to implementation, in coordination with Client, Sales, Project Management, and all other involved departments. Ex: equipment evaluation and system concept planning for next level video systems, including media servers, camera, switching, networks, connectivity.). This includes a Needs assessment for packaged video systems, including preliminary budgeting, engineering and conceptual layout.
- Executing video projects within project team to execute system designs, including schematic (via ConnectCAD), rack elevation, heat/power load schedules, procurement, marshalling and build management.
- Prepping video systems in the shop, including supervising system preparation, including equipment testing, inventory system adjustments, etc.
- Author additional documentation related to systems, including operations manuals and quick-reference guides as well as instructional aids such as videos, FAQs, and other documentation.
- Researching emerging video technologies (including: media servers, camera, switching, video, networks, and connectivity). This includes taking part in asset analysis and capabilities testing for equipment being considered, including liaison with manufacturers and manufacturer representatives.
- Other duties as assigned.
Team Responsibilities
- Work with other Video Technologists and team members to ensure projects are executed at the highest level.
- Communicate in a positive and professional manner with all 4Wall Entertainment employees.
- Maintain the highest level of customer relations.
- Work in a safe manner and report any safety concerns to your direct supervisor.
- Coordinating with all onsite departments to facilitate their networking needs.
Key Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in entertainment video business.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Must be responsible, self-motivated, self-starter, personable and well organized.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Ability to maintain friendly, professional demeanor at all times.
- Must be able to effectively meet deadlines and goals.
- Strong PC skills including: Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Internet.
- Must adhere to all company policies, SOPs and other management directives.
Physical Requirements
When in the office, the job duties and tasks of this position require the employee to regularly sit. The employee may choose to stand and move within their working area. Regular use of computer monitors and a keyboard/mouse will be required. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 2 pounds. Other physical requirements of the job include the ability to communicate. Generally, the employee will be in a temperature-controlled work environment set for general comfort. When on a show, the job duties and tasks of this position require the employee to regularly stand and walk. Regular use of computer monitors and a keyboard/mouse will be required. The employee must regularly push, pull, bend, climb, reach, twist, and kneel as well as lift and/or move 75-100 pounds. Other physical requirements of the job include communication and visual acuity such as close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. Generally, the employee will not be in a temperature-controlled work environment and may experience temperature variations due to local weather conditions.
Availability
- Must be available to work in the evenings and weekends, as required.
Position Location and/or Territory and Travel
- Travel may be required to support projects and other work. Most travel will be domestic and short duration, typically 1 – 5 days, with infrequent longer duration trips.
