SYSTEMS A/V PROJECT DIRECTOR 

JOB DESCRIPTION

FLSA Status: ExemptEEO Class: 1.2 First/Mid-Level Officials & Mgrs
Department: Systems    
Reports to: Senior Director of A/V System & Design
Supervises: Project Management, Design, Engineering at the project level

General Summary 

The Systems A/V Project Director is responsible for leading design, engineering and project management teams on major A/V projects as well as organizing and managing the execution phase of major projects and making sure that essential tasks are completed on-time, within the estimated budget and in compliance with contracted specifications and requirements. 

Responsibilities of Position: Duties include but are not limited to:

Organizational Responsibilities

  • Maintain and operate per 4Wall quality standards in all work activities
  • Achieves operational objectives by contributing information and recommendations to strategic plans and reviews
  • Implementing production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards
  • Meets Systems financial objectives by forecasting requirements, scheduling expenditures and analyzing variances

Personal Responsibilities

  • Act as a Program Manager, overseeing project management and engineering across multiple projects. Recommend staffing needs, and oversee scheduling of Project Managers at the project level
  • Initiate project designs and engineer solutions based on program needs
  • Provide technology evaluations and recommendations
  • Help develop concept, schematic, design development, bid level drawings & documents with design team
  • Coordinate projects that require support from multiple offices
  • Interface with Sales regarding project budget and margin goals
  • Conduct post mortems on key or large-scale projects
  • Provides escalation for Project Managers and Engineers
  • Manages individual major projects as needed
  • Other duties as assigned.

Team Responsibilities

  • Ensure that all employees, vendors, outside contractors, etc. are operating in a safe manner that meets OSHA standards and other regulatory requirements.  Ensure that employees feel comfortable reporting any work place hazards or safety concerns
  • Will meet defined objectives, provide timely reporting, training, coaching and discipline

Key Requirements

  • Minimum 6+ years in supervisory and leadership experience managing various types of teams.
  • Minimum 10+ years in A/V industry, special project experience required, engineering experience required.
  • Must have a clear understanding and proven track record of operating/leading large projects with unique solutions and multiple projects
  • Computer literacy, facilities systems and financial management required.
  • Knowledge of operations, including security and safety programs, personnel and labor relations. 
  • Must possess outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal, with strong ability to speak with poise
  • Must have exceptional leadership skills and ability to direct, coach, mentor, and develop team members
  • Must be a strong motivator, with ability to execute strategic direction for the company and influence others in support of the strategy
  • Must adhere to all company policies, SOPs, and other management directives. 

Physical Requirements

The job duties and tasks of this position require the employee to regularly sit. The employee may choose to stand and move within their working area. Regular use of computer monitors and a keyboard/mouse will be required. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 2 pounds. Other physical requirements of the job include the ability to communicate. Generally, the employee will be in a temperature-controlled work environment set for general comfort.

Availability

  • Must be available to work in the evenings and weekends, as required.
