JOB DESCRIPTION

Reports to: General Manager, System & Design
Supervises: A/V Systems Operations Team


General Summary 

The Director of A/V Systems & Design is responsible for overall management of the A/V Systems operations team. Beginning with qualifying new A/V project opportunities with the 4Wall General Manager, Systems & Design followed by providing continued planning, direction and management of the A/V Systems operations team through the execution phase of A/V projects to ensure essential tasks are completed on-time, within the estimated budget for the project and in compliance with contracted project specifications and requirements.

Responsibilities of Position: Duties include but are not limited to:

Organizational Responsibilities

  • Maintain and operate per 4Wall quality standards in all work activities
  • Achieves operational objectives by contributing information and recommendations to strategic plans and reviews
  • Implementing production, productivity, quality and customer service standards
  • Meets Systems & Design financial objectives by forecasting requirements, scheduling expenditures and analyzing variances

Personal Responsibilities

  • Manage the A/V Systems & Design operations team
  • Provide high level guidance and project management
  • Coordinate projects that require support from multiple office locations
  • Assign jobs to and help balance workload of A/V Systems team
  • Interface with Sales regarding project budget and margin goals
  • Conduct postmortems on key or largescale projects
  • Oversee scheduling of A/V Systems operations team
  • Conduct bi-weekly projects meeting
  • Maintain the active project report
  • Oversee the maintenance of certifications for A/V operations team
  • Recommend staffing needs for projects in support of Project Manager’s labor needs
  • Approval of expense reports, mileage reports and travel requests 
  • Manage Systems shop space with other Systems teams
  • Train new Project Managers

Team Responsibilities

  • Ensure that all employees, vendors, outside contractors, etc. are operating in a safe manner that meets OSHA standards and other regulatory requirements. Ensure that employees feel comfortable reporting any workplace hazards or safety concerns
  • Will meet defined objectives, provide timely reporting, training, coaching and discipline
  • Ensure proper recruiting, selecting, orienting, training, assigning, scheduling, coaching, counseling and disciplining of employees; communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, appraising and reviewing job contributions; planning and reviewing compensation actions; enforcing policies and procedures

Key Requirements

  • Minimum 5+ years in supervisory and leadership experience managing various types of teams
  • Minimum 5+ years in A/V industry, special project experience preferred
  • Must have a clear understanding and proven track record of operating/leading a business from all aspects
  • Computer literacy, facilities systems and financial management required
  • Knowledge of operations, including security and safety programs, personnel and labor relations
  • Must possess outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal, with strong ability to speak with poise
  • Must have exceptional leadership skills and ability to direct, coach, mentor and develop team members
  • Must be a strong motivator, with ability to execute strategic direction for the company and influence others in support of the strategy
  • Must adhere to all company policies, standards and other management directives

Physical Requirements

  • The job duties and tasks of this position require the employee to regularly sit. The employee may choose to stand and move within their working area. Regular use of computer monitors and a keyboard/mouse will be required. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 5 pounds. Other physical requirements of the job include the ability to communicate. Generally, the employee will be in a temperature-controlled work environment set for general comfort.

Availability

  • Must be available to work in the evenings and weekends, as required
