General Summary
The Truss/Dock Department Worker is responsible for the maintenance and repair of all gear in the Truss department. This includes inspecting, prepping, maintaining and organizing all truss per 4Wall quality standards and procedures. They are also responsible for reading production schedules, customer orders, work orders, shipping orders or requisitions to determine items to be gathered, distributed or shipped per 4Wall quality standards and procedures.
Responsibilities of Position: Duties include but are not limited to:
Organizational Responsibilities
- Maintain and operate per 4Wall quality standards in all work activities.
- Actively encourage and participate with employee engagement and culture-building initiatives.
Personal Responsibilities
- Determine work assignments and equipment needs based on work orders and/or oral instructions.
- Checking-in and -out orders including scanning equipment barcodes and/or entering quantity count data in RentalWorks.
- Maintaining inventory records in RentalWorks.
- Stage and sort products for loading.
- Move equipment within the warehouse by operating forklifts, pallet jacks and a variety of warehouse mechanical equipment.
- Load and unload trailers; identify damaged products when received.
- Complete daily logs.
- Cleaning, organizing and painting of truss.
- General repair and maintenance of the truss.
- Pulling, cutting and painting pipe.
- Pulling sandbags and crossovers.
- Preparing truss for orders.
- Wear the proper safety mask when painting at all times.
- Other duties as assigned.
Team Responsibilities
- Learn and work in other departments within the Shop as requested by the Operations Manager or Shop Foreman.
- Communicate in a positive and professional manner with all 4Wall Entertainment employees.
- Maintain the highest level of customer relations.
- Work in a safe manner and report any safety concerns to your direct supervisor, Operations Manager, or General Manager.
Key Requirements:
- Must have previous experience with truss and at least 1 year of previous warehouse or dock experience.
- Working knowledge of warehouse functions and operations.
- Demonstrated technical/electronics training and/or experience is required.
- Must have good troubleshooting and repair skills.
- Must be able to take directions as well as multi-task in a fast-paced environment without supervision.
- Must have a solid work background, including recent consistent work experience. Gaps must be explainable.
- Must have a positive attitude, be team-oriented and have great customer service skills.
- Experience in entertainment lighting industry is strongly preferred.
- Must be willing to be clean-shaven to pass the medical clearance for fit test.
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs.; duties include loading and unloading trucks.
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
- High School Diploma or GED is required.
Physical Requirements
The job duties and tasks of this position require the employee to regularly stand and walk. Regular use of computer, monitors, and a keyboard/mouse will be required. The employee must regularly push, pull, bend, climb, reach, twist, and kneel as well as lift and/or move 50-100 pounds. Other physical requirements of the job include communication and visual acuity such as close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. Generally, the employee will not be in a temperature-controlled work environment and may experience temperature variations due to local weather conditions.
Availability:
- Must be available to work in the evenings and weekends, as required.
