TRUSS/PAINTER DEPARTMENT WORKER

Reports to: Operations Manager / Shop Foreman / AOM

General Summary 

The Truss/Painter Department Worker is responsible for the maintenance and repair of all gear in the Truss department. This includes inspecting, prepping, maintaining, and organizing all truss gear. This includes painting all truss and other gear or equipment per 4Wall quality standards and procedures. 

Responsibilities of Position: Duties include but are not limited to:

Organizational Responsibilities

  • Maintain and operate per 4Wall quality standards in all work activities.
  • Actively encourage and participate with employee engagement and culture-building initiatives.

Personal Responsibilities

  • With the team, successfully execute all pick lists on a timely and consistent basis.
  • Checking-in and -out orders including scanning equipment barcodes and/or entering quantity count data in RentalWorks.
  • Cleaning, organizing, and painting of truss.
  • General repair and maintenance of the truss gear.
  • Pulling, cutting, and painting pipe.
  • Pulling sandbags and crossovers.
  • Keep all black truss, including black GT Truss, prepped and ready for orders.
  • Stencil all road boxes, cases, and truss with 4Wall logos provided. This also includes stenciling all new cases that arrive unbranded. Assistance and guidance will be provided for proper placement.
  • Always paint within paint booth and not outside of it.
  • Maintain moving parts (i.e. wheels, casters, etc.) and replace as needed on all cases, lamp boxes, lamp sleds and workboxes.
  • Maintain the proper placement and storage of paint in HazMat cabinets provided. Ensure these cabinets are always left unlocked
  • Clean out road boxes or cases, including in other departments.
  • Keep a schedule of filter and paint paper replacement on the floor.
  • Properly maintain and clean the paint booth, paint guns and other tools in the department. 
  • Maintain a clean and orderly department. Stack cases and road boxes to consolidate space, whenever possible.
  • Move equipment within the warehouse by operating forklifts, pallet jacks and a variety of warehouse mechanical equipment.
  • Always wear the proper safety mask when painting.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Team Responsibilities

  • Learn and work in other departments within the Shop as requested by the Operations Manager or Shop Foreman.
  • Communicate in a positive and professional manner with all 4Wall Entertainment employees. 
  • Maintain the highest level of customer relations.
  • Work in a safe manner and report any safety concerns to your direct supervisor, Operations Manager, or General Manager.

Key Requirements:

  • Must have previous experience with truss gear.
  • Demonstrated technical/electronics training and/or experience is required.
  • Previous experience in industrial painting, including knowledge and use of blasting equipment, conventional and airless painting equipment, and multiple application methods.
  • Must have good troubleshooting and repair skills.
  • Must be able to take directions as well as multi-task in a fast-paced environment without supervision.
  • Must have a solid work background, including recent consistent work experience. Gaps must be explainable.
  • Must have a positive attitude, be team-oriented and have great customer service skills.
  • Experience in entertainment lighting industry is strongly preferred.
  • Must be willing to be clean-shaven to pass the medical clearance for fit test.
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs.; duties include loading and unloading trucks.
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time, climb ladders to change filters and safely use hand and power tools.
  • Must be able to bend down regularly to secure loads and change the paper on the floor in and around the paint booth.
  • Must be able to safely operate a forklift, certification course will be provided if needed.
  • High School Diploma or GED is required.

Physical Requirements

The job duties and tasks of this position require the employee to regularly stand and walk. Regular use of computer monitors, and a keyboard/mouse will be required. The employee must regularly push, pull, bend, climb, reach, twist, and kneel as well as lift and/or move 50 pounds. Other physical requirements of the job include communication and visual acuity such as close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. Generally, the employee will not be in a temperature-controlled work environment and may experience temperature variations due to local weather conditions.

Availability:

  • Must be available to work in the evenings and weekends, as required.
