General Summary
A System Specialist will work under the direction of a Project Manager, in conjunction with the 4Wall Technical Services department, performing installation, programming and start up services for the Systems and Design division. It is the System Specialist’s responsibility to make sure that essential tasks are completed on-time, within the estimated budget for the project and in compliance with contracted project specifications and requirements. The System Specialist will function as the Technical Site/4Wall Representative working with the Electrical Installers. Additionally, a System Specialist will have duties assigned in support of the Systems and Design division as needed.

Organizational Responsibilities
- Maintain and operate per 4Wall quality standards in all work activities.
Personal Responsibilities
- On-site coordination, assistance, and verification of lighting control installations completed by an Electrical Contractor
- Prepping, hanging and focusing theatrical/architectural lighting fixtures
- Programming of ETC, Color Kinetics, and other lighting manufacturer products
- Troubleshooting of control distribution networks and other lighting control systems
- Terminating low voltage wiring
- Guiding the installing contractor team and training end users in system maintenance and operation
- Read, analyze and execute project specifications; create take offs from plans and specs
- Site visits to include verifying field measurements, existing equipment, and wiring
- Packing and Shipping coordination and documentation as required
- Assist with check-in and prep all incoming materials and equipment per the BOM and system design documentation related to the project; RMA processing as required
- Assist with preparation and check out equipment to be delivered to job sites. Prepare and/or request accurate and timely out contracts
- Prepare required install tools and expendables kit for installation period
- Program and configure all system equipment per requirements or specifications
- Administrative duties related to the project including, but not limited to, attending meetings, maintaining documentation, submitting reports, and providing technical support
- Other duties as assigned.
Team Responsibilities
- Communicate in a positive and professional manner with all 4Wall Entertainment employees
- Maintain the highest level of customer relations
- Work in a safe manner and report any safety concerns to your direct supervisor, Operations Manager, or General Manager
- Supervise and coordinate installation crews and sub-contractors provided by 4Wall
- Assist in specifying equipment, laying out lighting control systems, and estimating labor/ services for quotes on an as-needed basis
- Assist with coordinating project scheduling
- Assist with Job Closeout including: manufacturer closeout and billing, signoff paperwork, RW quantity adjustments, out contract
Key Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Tech Theatre/similar field or equivalent professional experience
- Ability to read and interpret system drawings, electrical schematics, architectural plans and lighting plots
- Solid knowledge of electricity and electronics
- Experience with network topology
- In depth knowledge of DMX, sACN, RDM and manufacturer specific lighting networking protocols
- OSHA 10 or 30 Certification
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs
- ETC Certified commissioning technician preferred
- Excellent computer skills and familiarity with applicable hardware and software
- Excellent communication skills
- Excels at operating in a fast-paced environment
- Works well under pressure
- Ability to self-manage as well as strong teamwork mentality
- Ability to successfully multi-task
- Hold and maintain a valid Driver’s License
- Experience working safely with hand and power tools
- Production / Stagehand experience
- Experience operating heavy equipment (Aerial platforms, forklifts, etc)
Physical Requirements
The job duties and tasks of this position require the employee to regularly stand and walk. Regular use of computer monitors and a keyboard/mouse will be required. The employee must regularly push, pull, bend, climb, reach, twist, and kneel as well as lift and/or move 50 pounds. Other physical requirements of the job include communication and visual acuity such as close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. Generally, the employee will not be in a temperature-controlled work environment and may experience temperature variations due to local weather conditions.
Availability
- Must be available to work in the evenings and weekends, as required.
