Rigging Department Lead

General Summary
The Rigging Department Lead is responsible for supervising the Rigging Department Technicians and for the maintenance and repair of all gear in the Rigging department. This includes inspecting, prepping, maintaining, and organizing all Rigging per 4Wall quality standards and procedures.
Responsibilities of Position: Duties include but are not limited to:
Organizational Responsibilities
- Maintain and operate per 4Wall quality standards in all work activities .
- Actively encourage and participate with employee engagement and culture-building initiatives.
Personal Responsibilities
- Establish priorities, provide direction, assign tasks, coordinate and support the Rigging team to ensure productivity and instill initiative.
- Maintain high-level quality control within the department.
- With the team, successfully execute all pick lists on a timely and consistent basis.
- Checking in orders, including scanning equipment barcodes and/or entering quantity count data in RentalWorks.
- Clean, organize, test and troubleshoot all motors and rigging gear.
- General repair and maintenance of the equipment.
- Keep updated certifications on all motors, control, rigging, and power distribution systems and equipment.
- Preparing/prepping equipment for orders and return equipment back to inventory.
- Wear the proper safety mask when painting at all times.
- Actively check and respond to 4Wall email while on the clock.
- Other duties as assigned.
Team Responsibilities
- Learn and work in other departments within the Shop as requested by the Operations Manager or Shop Foreman.
- Communicate in a positive and professional manner with all 4Wall Entertainment employees.
- Ensure all team members maintain accountability and the highest level of customer relations.
- Work in a safe manner and report any safety concerns to your direct supervisor, Operations Manager, or General Manager.
Key Requirements:
- Previous experience in theatrical rigging and electric motors is required.
- Must have or be willing to obtain motor certification within 6 months after starting in this position.
- Demonstrated technical/electronics training and/or experience is required.
- Must have good troubleshooting and repair skills.
- Must be able to take directions as well as multi-task in a fast-paced environment without supervision.
- Must have a solid work background, including recent consistent work experience. Gaps must be explainable.
- Must have a positive attitude, be team-oriented and have great customer service skills.
- Experience in entertainment lighting industry is strongly preferred.
- Must be willing to be clean-shaven to pass the medical clearance for fit test.
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs.; duties include loading and unloading trucks.
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
- High School Diploma or GED is required.
- Must be able to effectively communicate in English.
Physical Requirements
The job duties and tasks of this position require the employee to regularly stand and walk. Regular use of computer monitors and a keyboard/mouse will be required. The employee must regularly push, pull, bend, climb, reach, twist, and kneel as well as lift and/or move 50 pounds. Other physical requirements of the job include communication and visual acuity such as close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. Generally, the employee will not be in a temperature-controlled work environment and may experience temperature variations due to local weather conditions.
Availability:
• Must be available to work in the evenings and weekends, as required.
