General Summary
The VP of Sales and Marketing (VPSM) is responsible for establishing annual revenue targets to meet 4Wall Entertainment’s financial and strategic goals and objectives while also developing and executing marketing and communication strategies that facilitate continual business growth. More specifically, the VPSM will develop mutually beneficial relationships on national/regional/local levels with end-users, specifiers, designers, vendors and other strategic partners while also enhancing brand awareness, product marketing, events and sponsorships, and value propositions for 4Wall Entertainment. The VPSM will manage sales force productivity and effectiveness through planning, reporting, quota setting and management, sales process optimization, sales training, sales program implementation, sales compensation design and administration and recruiting/developing/retaining the best available sales force talent.
Responsibilities of Position: Duties include but are not limited to:
Organizational Responsibilities
- Strategic planning including preparing a detailed analysis of current year results, sales projections, and sales force performance; planning for territorial expansion; corporate positioning; market and competitive analysis; customer segment penetration plans; and product positioning
- Identify and develop strategic alliances, close/grow major customer accounts, and ensure that profitable sales are meeting or exceeding internal and external expectations
- Develop measurement tools and reports with which to establish, verify and measure sales force effectiveness and profitability
- Identify poor performers, establish remedial plans and terminate, when necessary, those who do not perform or meet objectives
- Provide regular updates to CEO on budget performance and identify specific solutions if targets are not being achieved
- Ensure all company activities and processes are consistent with 4Wall Lighting Entertainment quality program standards and corporate quality objectives.
Personal Responsibilities
- Increase sales of all 4Wall Entertainment products and services
- Define the company sales process from lead generation to post-order customer service, including sales training and sale team metrics and incentives
- Oversee marketing communications including branding, public relations, advertising, trade shows, seminars and events collateral materials, analyst and market research management, and website design and content either directly or on an outsourced basis
- Manage all revenue streams to ensure profitability, track metrics and success criteria for marketing programs, and manage 4Wall’s marketing budget
- Act as spokesperson for the company with press and at industry events
- Enhance brand awareness in target markets, maintain industry knowledge through developing credible and strategic relationships with industry experts and conducting industry research, understand the business needs of new and existing business prospects
- Other duties as assigned.
Team Responsibilities
- Direct, coordinate, manage and motivate the activities and efforts of the national business development team
- Support and train regional and local sales agents, monitor territory trends, issues and opportunities to achieve growth
- Provide the framework to assist locations in hiring qualified team members and how to train, develop and manage the staff to achieve optimal results
- Provide feedback on a regular basis to the appropriate employees regarding issues of product quality, projected sales volume requirements, and sales-related issues
- Planning, monitoring, and appraising job results for team members and ensure that they have personal growth opportunities
- Actively encourage and participate with employee engagement and culture building initiatives
Key Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree, Master’s preferred
- Must have a proven track record in sales and leading sales teams
- Minimum of ten (10) years of marketing leadership
- Minimum of five (5) years management or supervisory experience
- Senior leadership level experience, with a deep understanding of consumer brands and experience managing both brand and performance marketing, and ability to direct, coach, mentor, and develop all levels of employees
- Has held responsibility for building and executing plans to deliver against financial goals or company objectives
- Demonstrated success in creating awareness for a growth-phase company in a dynamic marketplace
- Computer literacy, franchise systems and financial management including budgeting, forecasting, and reporting required
- Must be a strong motivator with outstanding communication skills and ability to execute strategic direction for the company and influence others in support of the strategy
- Must possess excellent training skills
- Ability to direct and support the implementation of company initiatives
- Must adhere to all company policies, SOPs, and other management directives.
Physical Requirements
The job duties and tasks of this position require the employee to regularly sit. The employee may choose to stand and move within their working area. Regular use of computer monitors and a keyboard/mouse will be required. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 2 pounds. Other physical requirements of the job include the ability to communicate. Generally, the employee will be in a temperature-controlled work environment set for general comfort.
Availability:
- Must be available to work in the evenings and weekends, as required.
