National Project Director

General Summary
The Project Director is responsible for managing the Systems & Design team in the applicable region. It is the Project Director’s responsibility to organize and manage the execution phase of a project and make sure that essential tasks are completed on-time, within the estimated budget for the project and in compliance with contracted project specifications and requirements.
Responsibilities of Position: Duties include but are not limited to:
Organizational Responsibilities
- Maintain and operate per 4Wall quality standards in all work activities
- Achieves operational objectives by contributing information and recommendations to strategic plans and reviews
- Implementing production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards
- Meets Systems financial objectives by forecasting requirements, scheduling expenditures and analyzing variances
Personal Responsibilities
- Manage the Systems & Design team
- Act as a high-level Project Manager
- Coordinate projects that require support from multiple offices
- Assign jobs to and help balance workload of Project Managers
- Interface with Sales regarding project budget and margin goals
- Conduct post mortems on key or large-scale projects
- Oversee scheduling of Project Technicians
- Conduct bi-weekly Projects Meeting
- Maintain the active Project Report
- Oversee the maintenance of certifications for Project Managers and Technicians
- Recommend staffing needs for projects in support of the Project Manager’s labor requests
- Approval of expense reports, mileage reports and travel requests for your team
- Manage Systems shop space with the location General Manager
- Train new Project Managers
- Other duties as assigned.
Team Responsibilities
- Ensure that all employees, vendors, outside contractors, etc. are operating in a safe manner that meets OSHA standards and other regulatory requirements. Ensure that employees feel comfortable reporting any work place hazards or safety concerns
- Will meet defined objectives, provide timely reporting, training, coaching and discipline
- Ensure proper recruiting, selecting, orienting, training, assigning, scheduling, coaching, counseling, and disciplining of employees; communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, appraising, and reviewing job contributions; planning and reviewing compensation actions; enforcing policies and procedures
Key Requirements
- Minimum 5+ years in supervisory and leadership experience managing various types of teams.
- Minimum 5+ years in lighting industry, special project experience preferred.
- Must have a clear understanding and proven track record of operating/leading a business from all aspects, with emphasis on sales
- Computer literacy, facilities systems and financial management required.
- Knowledge of operations, including security and safety programs, personnel and labor relations.
- Must possess outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal, with strong ability to speak with poise
- Must have exceptional leadership skills and ability to direct, coach, mentor, and develop team members
- Must be a strong motivator, with ability to execute strategic direction for the company and influence others in support of the strategy
- Must adhere to all company policies, SOPs, and other management directives.
Physical Requirements
The job duties and tasks of this position require the employee to regularly sit. The employee may choose to stand and move within their working area. Regular use of computer monitors and a keyboard/mouse will be required. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 2 pounds. Other physical requirements of the job include the ability to communicate. Generally, the employee will be in a temperature-controlled work environment set for general comfort.
Availability
- Must be available to work in the evenings and weekends, as required.
