General summary
The CAD Specialist will be responsible for working with the Systems and Design Team to fulfill their key responsibilities – namely the completion of design documents for projects. This role will include Computer Aided Design (CAD) of electrical wiring diagrams, facility impact drawings, custom manufactured elements, sketches, renderings and visualizations.
Responsibilities of Position: Duties include but are not limited to:
Organizational Responsibilities
- Maintain and operate per 4Wall quality standards in all work activities
Personal Responsibilities
- Electrical wiring diagrams include data and power distribution wiring diagrams and technical details.
- Facility impact drawings include but may not be limited to fixture layout, data, low voltage and/or high voltage paths.
- Custom manufacturing elements could include lighting fixtures, electrical distribution boxes, and scenic displays/components.
- Any other duties assigned to you by Company management.
Team Responsibilities
- Be highly motivated and able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Key Requirements
- Strong knowledge of CAD based software with emphasis in AutoCAD, both 2D and 3D solid modeling.
- Experience with Building Information Modeling (BIM) with emphasis in Revit.
- Understand how to read orthographic (2D) and/or isometric (3D) designs and supplier/manufacturer drawings.
- Proven communication skills, math skills and proven ability to meet deadlines and goals.
- Strong PC skills including: Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Internet.
- Ability and willingness to work overtime as work load dictates. This may include weekdays and weekends.
- Some relevant secondary, technical or vocational education or training required.
- Must adhere to all company policies, SOPs, and other management directives.
Physical Requirements
The job duties and tasks of this position require the employee to regularly sit. The employee may choose to stand and move within their working area. Regular use of computer monitors and a keyboard/mouse will be required. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 2 pounds. Other physical requirements of the job include the ability to communicate. Generally, the employee will be in a temperature-controlled work environment set for general comfort.
Availability
- Must be available to work in the evenings and weekends, as required.
