General Summary
The Outside Service Technician is responsible for providing exceptional service to external clients requiring assistance to inspect customer-owned lighting and electronics gear, diagnose issues and execute repair services and provide technical support on-premise, at a 4Wall service location or via manufacturer service. In addition, they are also responsible for assisting the 4Wall in-house Service Department with diagnosis, repair and prep of rental inventory items as needed.

Organizational Responsibilities
- Maintain and operate per 4Wall quality standards in all work activities
- Actively encourage and participate with employee engagement and culture-building initiatives.
Personal Responsibilities
- Accurately and effectively diagnose, repair and maintain customer-owned lighting and electronics equipment, including providing technical support as needed.
- Maintain high level quality control, implement software updates as needed and coordinate manufacturer-directed services.
- Schedule appointments and demonstrate urgent responsiveness to customer requests for service or information.
- Execute effectively in order to build client trust, earn referrals and generate department revenues sufficient to meet Service Department goals.
- Manage workflow to ensure accurate paperwork and details are turned in for timely billing.
- Maintain a clean and organized work space, including the service vehicle anddesignated shop area.
- Collaborate with Operations Manager, Sales Agents and General Manager to develop and implement strategies targeting new accounts, past customers, etc. to generate additional revenues.
- Maintain inventory of company-owned tools; perform periodic inventory audits to ensure control.
- Wear the proper safety mask when painting at all times.
- Actively check and respond to 4Wall email while on the clock.
- Other duties as assigned.
Team Responsibilities
- Learn and work in departments within the Shop as requested by the Operations Manager.
- Communicate in a positive, informative and professional manner with all 4Wall Entertainment employees.
- Work in a safe manner and report any safety concerns to your Operations Manager or General Manager.
Key Requirements
- 2+ years’ experience diagnosing, repairing and/or installing entertainment lighting and electronics gear.
- Demonstrated technical/electronics training and/or experience.
- Must have good troubleshooting and repair skills.
- Must be able to take directions as well as multi-task in a fast-paced environment without supervision.
- Must have a solid work background, including recent consistent work experience. Gaps must be explainable.
- Must have a positive attitude, be team-oriented and have great customer service skills.
- Experience in entertainment lighting industry is strongly preferred.
- Must be willing to remain clean-shaven to wear a respirator and in order to pass the medical clearance for fit test.
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs.; duties include loading and unloading trucks, as well as moving projection equipment.
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time, climb ladders and safely use hand and power tools.
- High School Diploma or GED is required.
Physical Requirements
The job duties and tasks of this position require the employee to regularly stand and walk. Regular use of computer monitors and a keyboard/mouse will be required. The employee must regularly push, pull, bend, climb, reach, twist, and kneel as well as lift and/or move 50 pounds. Other physical requirements of the job include communication and visual acuity such as close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. Generally, the employee will not be in a temperature-controlled work environment and may experience temperature variations due to local weather conditions.
Availability
- Must be available to work in the evenings and weekends, as required.
