Evening Shop Lead

EVENING SHOP LEAD

General Summary                           

The Evening Shop Lead has primary responsibility of providing coordination, supervision, planning, and support for multiple departments within the shop that are responsible for prep and QC of entertainment event equipment.  This role requires excellent organizational skills that ensure our shop team members are providing the very best customer service.    

Typical Duties & Responsibilities of Position:

Organizational Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and operate per 4Wall quality standards in all work activities.
  • Actively encourage and participate with employee engagement and culture-building initiatives.

My Responsibilities:

  • With the Operations Manager and Department Leads, establish priorities, provide direction, assign tasks, coordinate and support all departments to ensure productivity and instill initiative.
  • With Department Leads, maintain high-level quality control throughout all departments.
  • Oversee staff levels in shop and work with Operations Manager to determine day to day tasks of shop floaters and other personnel.
  • Determine work assignments and equipment needs based on work orders and/or oral instructions.
  • Use RentalWorks and information from departments to identify shortages in equipment and relay information to Operations Manager.
  • Oversee and assist with loading and unloading trailers and/or client pick-ups; identify damaged products when received.
  • Ensures all equipment is gathered from the respective departments and are loaded correctly, prior to departure.
  • Responsible for scheduling all box truck pick-ups/drop offs.
  • Partner with the Operations Manager to provide timely reporting and address any issues/concerns as needed. 
  • Assist operations in keeping shop facility well maintained.
  • Wear the proper safety mask when painting at all times.
  • Actively check and respond to 4Wall email while on the clock.
  • Other duties as assigned.

My Team Responsibilities: 

  • Learn and work in all departments within the Shop as requested by the Operations Manager.
  • Communicate in a positive, informative and professional manner with all 4Wall Entertainment employees. 
  • Ensure all team members maintain accountability and the highest level of customer relations.
  • Work in a safe manner and report any safety concerns to your Operations Manager or General Manager.
  • Ensure that all employees, vendors, outside contractors, etc. are operating all job tasks, functions and equipment in a safe manner per company policy and that meets OSHA standards and other governmental or regulatory requirements.  Ensure that employees feel comfortable reporting any work place hazards or safety concerns.

Key Requirements:

  • At least 4 years of previous warehouse management experience required, including leading warehouse employees.
  • Working knowledge of warehouse functions and operations, such as security and safety programs, loading docks, scheduling pick up/drop offs.
  • Computer skills, including working knowledge of the internet, Outlook, Excel, and the ability to learn new software.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to direct, coach, mentor, and support team members.
  • Must be able to give directions as well as multi-task in a fast-paced environment without supervision.
  • Must have a positive attitude, be team-oriented and have great customer service skills.
  • Understanding and knowledge of theatrical lighting, staging, rigging, and entertainment equipment is preferred
  • Must be willing to remain clean shaven to wear a respirator and in order to pass the medical clearance for fit test.
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs.; duties include loading and unloading trucks.
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time .
  • High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • Must be able to effectively communicate in English.

Physical Requirements

The job duties and tasks of this position require the employee to regularly stand and walk. Regular use of computer monitors and a keyboard/mouse will be required. The employee must regularly push, pull, bend, climb, reach, twist, and kneel as well as lift and/or move 50 pounds. Other physical requirements of the job include communication and visual acuity such as close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. Generally, the employee will not be in a temperature-controlled work environment and may experience temperature variations due to local weather conditions.

Availability:

  • Must be available to work in the evenings and weekends, as required.
