CREW CHIEF

General summary
The Crew Chief has primary responsibility for any preproduction work required and for being onsite to oversee the crews and installation on all assigned 4Wall Entertainment jobs, which requires excellent organizational skills and providing the very best customer service.

Organizational Responsibilities
- Maintain and operate per 4Wall quality standards in all work activities
- Represent 4Wall in a professional manner while on the road or at events
Personal Responsibilities
- Providing support to 4Wall clients as required per the show.
- Arrive on-time for all scheduled shifts. In the event of an unforeseen circumstance that will impact arriving on time or at all, Crew Chief will inform their manager.
- When not working on a show, will be responsible for providing client support on shows, which may include reading and/or creating CAD designs in VectorWorks, show prep, rehearsal management, participating in conference calls, etc.
- Staffing/scheduling the show with lighting techs and labor, as required and within budget.
- Being present onsite to provide concise and clear direction on all assigned jobs while overseeing the installation of the assigned job and ensuring it is done in an efficient and safe manner that meets 4Wall quality standards.
- Maintaining gear lists to ensure that all specifications and requirements are met.
- Generating cable lists as required per show in a timely manner.
- Working independently without supervision as a seamless part of the client’s team.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
Key Requirements
- (3-5 Years) Previous experience as a Lead Technician, programmer, and/ crew chief.
- Understanding and knowledge of theatrical lighting, staging, rigging, and entertainment equipment is required.
- Experience in entertainment lighting, and video industry is required.
- Must have high level experience in AutoCad or Vectorworks.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent organizational skills
- Must have good computer skills (Microsoft Office Suite, and position relevant programs) and take a proactive approach to troubleshooting and repair
- Must adhere to all company policies, SOPs, and other management directives.
Physical Requirements
When in the office, the job duties and tasks of this position require the employee to regularly sit. The employee may choose to stand and move within their working area. Regular use of computer monitors and a keyboard/mouse will be required. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 2 pounds. Other physical requirements of the job include the ability to communicate. Generally, the employee will be in a temperature-controlled work environment set for general comfort. When on a show, the job duties and tasks of this position require the employee to regularly stand and walk for long period of times (regularly 10+ hours a day). Regular use of computer monitors and a keyboard/mouse will be required. The employee must regularly push, pull, bend, climb, reach, twist, and kneel as well as lift and/or move 75-100 pounds. Other physical requirements of the job include communication and visual acuity such as close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. Employees must be able to safely wear safety equipment (e.g. safety harness,) and be able to maneuver around small and tight spaces. Generally, the employee will not be in a temperature-controlled work environment and may experience temperature variations due to local weather conditions.
Availability
- Must be available to work in the evenings and weekends, as required.
Position Location and/or Territory and Travel
- Travel is 90% of the time. This may include multiple days on the road, with little down time.
