General Summary
The Corporate Controller is responsible for establishing financial policies, procedures, controls, and reporting systems. The Corporate Controller will be responsible for leading the Accounting team and supporting initiatives as directed by the CFO.
Responsibilities of this position: Duties include but are not limited to:
Organizational Responsibilities
- Guide company internal financial controls by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing policies and procedures
- Oversee the operations of the accounting department, including the design of an organizational structure adequate for achieving the department's goals and objectives
Personal Responsibilities
- Provide status of financial condition by collecting, interpreting, and reporting financial data. Issue timely and complete financial statements and reports to lenders as required.
- Manage external auditors and annual audit requirement.
- Implement policies and procedures for all accounting practices, including customer billing, accounts receivable, fixed assets and accounts payable.
- Direct commercial banking relationships and forecast cash flow requirements.
- Coordinate with external tax firm for income tax returns and manage all other sales and property tax filings and audits.
- Prepare special reports as requested by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations by knowing existing and staying on top of new legislation and enforcing adherence to requirements.
- Other duties as assigned.
Team Responsibilities
- Lead the accounting staff across all company locations.
- Participate in interviews, hiring, training, development, and performance evaluations of staff members when necessary and in accordance with 4Wall policies and applicable laws.
- Ensure that all team members maintain high customer relations for internal and external customers.
- Communicate in a positive, informative and professional manner with all 4Wall Entertainment employees.
Key Requirements
- Completion of a bachelor's degree at an accredited college or university or equivalent work experience.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred.
- Controller or Chief Financial Officer level experience, preferred.
- Experience managing an external audit with a big 4 audit firm or equivalent.
- Capable of developing full financial statement reports for creditors.
- Ability to prepare SEC financial reports, i.e. 10-K and 10-Q, preferred
- Experience developing accounting processes in a small to mid-sized company, preferred
- Five to seven years of financial experience and management experience with the day-to-day financial operations of an organization of at least 25 staff persons.
- Computer literacy, franchise systems and financial management required.
- Energetic, forward-thinking and creative individual with high ethical standards.
- Must possess outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Must have exceptional leadership skills and ability to direct, coach, mentor, and develop all levels of employees.
- Must adhere to all company policies, SOPs, and other management directives.
Physical Requirements
The job duties and tasks of this position require the employee to regularly sit. The employee may choose to stand and move within their working area. Regular use of computer monitors and a keyboard/mouse will be required. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 2 pounds. Other physical requirements of the job include the ability to communicate. Generally, the employee will be in a temperature-controlled work environment set for general comfort.
Availability
- Must be available to work in the evenings and weekends, as required.
Position Location and/or Territory and Travel
- Position will require frequent travel initially and on-going monthly travel to company locations.
